At Moonshot Compost, our goal has always been to keep food waste out of landfills. Measurement is a big part of how we do that. We've weighed every container we've collected since we launched in July 2020. Those weights show what is working at each location and they also show when food waste starts slipping back into the trash.
Starting November 2, that data has a new home called Cosmos. The Diversion Dashboard is now the Cosmos Impact Board, and your monthly diversion reports will come from Cosmos too.

What is Cosmos?
Cosmos is where your diversion data lives, starting with the Impact Board and the reports your team already receives.
Cosmos comes from the Greek word for order, and that is what we built it to bring to your data. We handle the pickups. Cosmos handles the record of every one of them.
What is new on the Cosmos Impact Board?
We built the Diversion Dashboard to make diversion data easy to see and share. The Impact Board keeps that idea and adds three things:
• Choose your date range. Look at the period that matters to you.
• Move between your locations. Multi-location boards now link to each location's own board and back again.
• Get the context at a glance. The board shows your sector, your locations and your pickups alongside the pounds collected.
Clearer reports and pickup reminders.
Cosmos also sends the emails that keep your team informed. Every customer receives a monthly report showing your totals by location, the change from the previous month and your lifetime total. If you would like a closer view, we can also send a weekly report with the pounds collected at each location, the change from the week before and your total for the month so far.
Cosmos can also send a reminder before pickup day. It lists the pickup date, when to set containers out and how many to expect, with a short checklist for your team. You can choose which emails to receive.
What to expect if you use the Diversion Dashboard today.
• Use the new link in your email. We sent each customer their Cosmos Impact Board link on November 2. Like the Diversion Dashboard, it opens without a login or password, so you can share it with your team, your leadership and anyone else who follows your program.
• Update your bookmarks and shared links. Please update any saved links, presentations or web pages by the end of November. Your old Diversion Dashboard will stay available until then, but its data stops updating on November 2.
• Look for your next monthly report from Cosmos. Your monthly report on November 6 will be the first one sent from Cosmos and will contain the updated links to your Cosmos Impact Board.
